Easiest Ways to Put on a Waist Trainer
Easiest Ways to Put on a Waist Trainer

'What is the easiest way to put on a waist trainer?' is one of the most common questions we get asked by our customers. A waist trainer is designed to reduce your measurements down by 2-3 inches so it can be really difficult to put it on initially.

Here are two easy techniques with step by step directions to put on your Waist Trainer with a hook and eye closure and Waist Trainer with Zipper Closure.

The Two Techniques
We have a Standing-up and Laying-down technique. Both work great for people putting on their waist trainer by themselves and don't have any help. Try both and see which one works best for you. My personal preference is the laying-down technique. I have a lovely belly pooch and find this position get's it flat so I can get my fastening done a lot faster whilst watching my morning TV in comfort!

If you are a beginner to waist trainers, the first time putting on a waist trainer is always the hardest. However, after you've worn it for a couple of  hours or days, it has a chance to stretch and mould to your body, this making it much easier to put on the next time.

Laying Down Technique:

The Laying down technique is recommended if you are plus size or suffer from back pains. Some find laying on a bed much easier as your tummy is nice and flat. The only down-side is you can't see what you are doing but once you've done it once or twice, you won't need to look. Hooking-up becomes second nature.
  1. Lay down with the waist trainer already underneath you. Wrap the waist trainer around your waist
  2. Compression Level: From the bottom, choose the widest hook (the first set of hooks). You can move to the tightest hooks as you get more familiar with the waist trainer.
  3. Start buckling from the bottom hook and work your way up, one by one.
  4. If you have a zipper style cincher, hook the internal hook closure first (this will hold it in place). Slowly zip up to the corset in stages, pulling the material from the sides as you go.
  5. Once you’re hooked or zipped up, stand up and adjust the trainer so it covers the torso completely.

Standing Up Technique:

  1. Stand in front of a mirror. (This can be helpful as you can see what you are doing)
  2. Wrap the waist trainer around you. Positioning it above your hips.
  3. Compression Level - Choose the widest hook (the first set of hooks) Move to the tighter hooks as you get familiar to the waist trainer. In your first week, start off at a comfortable level.
  4. Start buckling the waist trainer from the bottom hook and eye and work your way up one by one. Reposition your waist trainer, as necessary. Pull in your tummy as you go. If one hooks unfastens, simply go back and re-hook.
  5. If you have a zipper style cincher, hook the internal hook closure first (this will hold it in place). Slowly zip up to the corset in stages, pulling the material from the sides as you go.
  6. Once you’re hooked or zipped up, stand up and adjust the trainer so it covers the torso completely.
